Dr. Fiona F. Hunter

Dr. Fiona F. Hunter The mosquito identification program is run by Dr. Fiona F. Hunter, Medical Entomologist; Professor of Biological Sciences at Brock University; and past President of the Entomological Society of Ontario. Dr. Hunter has over twenty years of research experience as a medical entomologist in a university setting. She is a former member of the Federal Steering Committee for West Nile Virus, and works closely with Niagara Public Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada on a project to monitor the spread of insect vectors into southern Ontario caused by global climate change. She has numerous publications in peer-reviewed Entomological journals on her biting fly research.

Dr. Michael Bidochka The West Nile virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus testing program is run by Dr. Michael Bidochka, Registered Microbiologist, Canadian College of Microbiologists; Professor of Biological Sciences at Brock University; former Director of Biotechnology at Brock University; and President of Microbanalysis Inc. Dr. Bidochka has over twenty years of research experience as a microbiologist in a university setting and publishes extensively in internationally recognized journals.

Alessio Gasparotto, B.Sc.

Alessio Gasparotto Alessio has been with Entomogen Inc. since 2004. Beginning as an Identification Technician, he was promoted to Shift Supervisor and later became a Senior Identification Technician. Alessio is now the position of Operations Manager. He manages all of our seasonal employees for the West Nile virus Surveillance Program for the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care as well as the First Nations and Inuit Health Board. With several years of experience doing Ministry related fieldwork, he is the Project Manager for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and 407 ETR Storm Water Management Pond Surveillance. As a Senior Identification Technician trained in both larvae and adult mosquitoes, he uses these skills to train staff and other health professionals through various workshops. Alessio also possesses an OBBN certification for benthic invertebrate identification and is certified for CABIN data entry.

Lyndsey Stuart
Office and Accounts Manager

Lyndsey Stuart Lyndsey came to the company in 2003 and has been overseeing the daily administrative functions of Entomogen Inc. ever since. As the Office and Accounts Manager, she is responsible for organizing and managing all financial activities, data entry, shipping and receiving and coordinating inter-office communication between departments. Lyndsey is the initial and main point of contact for our clients. Previously the Front Desk Manager at the Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, she gained a wealth of experience in customer service and now uses these skills to keep Entomogen Inc. running smoothly.

Candice Kerling, B.Sc., M.Sc.
Ecologist

Candice Kerling Candice joined the Entomogen team in 2008 as the lead for the ecological consulting division. She has worked on a wide variety of field ecology projects in both terrestrial and aquatic environments. Her expertise lies with amphibians and invertebrates, although she has also been involved in studies focused on birds, fish, reptiles, and small mammals. Candice has experience in developing and implementing new field studies, insect identification, and biological surveys. She has completed modules for the Canadian Council on Animal Care for research with vertebrates. Candice has also been certified by the North America Benthological Society (NABS) as a taxonomist for all aquatic invertebrate Phyla and has completed an intermediate/advanced EPT taxonomy workshop. She has also worked with COSEWIC in the development of status reports for endangered species.
